Letter From The Principal

Dear Storrington Parent(s)/Guardian(s):

As we close on what has been another unprecedented school year, we would like to take the time to acknowledge you and your children for all your support, understanding and flexibility.  It is important that we reflect on all the successes and accomplishments of Storrington’s students.  As parents and guardians, you have been instrumental in guiding your child(ren) through these unprecedented times. You have worked tirelessly to ensure both their academic success and well-being.  On behalf of all the staff at Storrington, we want to thank you for everything you have done to support your child’s growth and development.

The end of a school year will sometimes bring about change and, unfortunately, we have to say goodbye to some staff that have dedicated their time and efforts in supporting the staff and students at Storrington.

It is with mixed emotions that I share with you that our SST, Belinda Jackson, has accepted a position with the Sagonaska Provincial Demonstration School located in Belleville starting in September.  After 7 years at Storrington, as the Student Support Teacher and Math teacher, Ms. Jackson will continue her journey as an educator at Sagonaska working with Ontario students with severe Learning Disabilities.  Although we are excited for Ms. Jackson’s new journey, she will be greatly missed here at Storrington.  We want to thank her for everything that she has done to support all the students here at Storrington.  Please join me in wishing her all the best in her new role!

We want to thank Mme. Christine Harvey all her work and effort in teaching French to our students in Grades 1 and 2.  She did an amazing job introducing and teaching our students French.  We wish her all the best in her next journey.

We want to wish Ms. Carly Skinner all the best as she and her family will be welcoming their second child.  We can’t wait to meet our newest member of the Stinger family and we look forward to working with Ms. Skinner again in the 2023-2024 school year.

We also say goodbye to Ms. Lori Hanley and we wish her good luck and all the best next year.

Although we are very hopeful to have Ms. Jennifer Goedman, Ms. Becky Plumb and Ms. Meghan Law back in September, we want to take the time to thank them all for their hard work and effort with our Stingers.  We know that they will continue to do an amazing job in supporting all students.

We want to wish our parting staff all the best and let them know they will always have a place in the Storrington community.

With the departure of staff, we welcome the arrival of new staff and future Stingers We want to welcome M. Matthew Saunders, who will be our new 0.27 French teacher and will be working with Mme. Dannenberg in providing French instruction to our students. We look forward to getting to know M. Saunders and we know he will quickly find a place in our Storrington community.

We are fortunate here at Storrington to have an incredibly dedicated School Council.  They have been fundamental in supporting the school, staff and students.  Although this year continued to be challenging and we were unable to complete many initiatives, we want to thank them for all their efforts, and we are looking forward to working with them next year.  We are very hopeful that we will be able to plan activities that bring our community together.

In preparation for the 2022-2023 school year, there are still many factors that need to be planned for.  As a result, we will not be sharing the class placements with students until closer to the start of school in September.  As the summer progresses, please visit the Limestone District School Board website or our Storrington Public School website for updates and additional information.

This year, we have had so many great moments and memories to reflect on. I have thoroughly enjoyed my second year at Storrington and feel that I am very lucky to have the continued support of the school community.  I am grateful to be the principal of a school that is accepting and inclusive of everyone.

I wish you all a safe and healthy summer and look forward to seeing everyone in September.
