Week at a Glance

Hello Storrington Stingers,

We hope that this email finds you all well and healthy.

Please see the information below in this week’s Week at a Glance.

Earth Hour 2022

On Friday March 25, from 11:45 to 12:45, our Storrington Stingers reduced lighting and technology use to raise awareness of climate change and the importance of energy conservation.  During that time, our Stingers saved 33.87 kWh.  This is enough energy to power a 15-watt LED bulb for 2258 hours! Great job Stingers!

Silly Hair/Silly Hat Day

On Tuesday, April 5, we are encouraging all our Stingers to show their Stinger pride by coming to school with silly hair or by wearing a silly hat.  We look forward to seeing our Stingers with silly hair or a silly hat.

IEP Information Sessions

We recognize that Individualized Education Plans can be confusing. We also understand that parents of students who have an IEP, may have questions around the IEP and the sections included in it.  To further support parents of students with an IEP, we have scheduled 2 information sessions to answer general questions regarding the IEP.  The sessions will be conducted using Microsoft Teams.  The sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, April 5 at 4:30 and Wednesday, April 13 at 6:30

Kindergarten Online Registration for 2022-2023 School Year

If you have a child or know of a family who has a child that is Kindergarten age in September, the LDSB online registration for 2022-2023 school year is now open. You can register your child now for September, 2022 at Kindergarten Registration. To learn more about the Kindergarten program, please visit Discover Kindergarten in Limestone.  Thank you for choosing LDSB. #SeeYourselfInLimestone

Covid 19 Health Protocols

The provincial screening tool has been further amended to align with federal requirements, and to take into account different vaccination circumstances.  The screening tool will advise on any isolation requirements for your particular situation, but in general, household members of COVID-positive or symptomatic individuals do not have to self-isolate if:

(a) they have tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 90 days;

(b) are older than 18 and have received their booster dose (three doses); or

(c) are younger than 18 and are fully immunized (two doses).  Household members who do not meet these criteria must self-isolate.

Click here for the updated screening tools.
