Hello Storrington Stingers,
We hope that all our Stingers are staying well and healthy.
Please see the information below in this week’s Week at a Glance.
Happy Holidays from the Storrington Staff
On behalf of all Storrington staff, we want to wish our Stingers a safe and healthy holiday break with nothing but joy and happiness! We hope that the holiday break is filled with moments you will always remember and cherish. As we reflect on what has been an unprecedented 2020, there are many things to be grateful for. As a staff, we are grateful for our Storrington community and everything that you have done to support our Stingers and to help make Storrington a safe and amazing place to learn and grow. We wish you all the best and we can’t wait to see our Stingers in the new year.
Updated KFLA Public Health COVID Protocol
On December 9, KFLA Public Health revised their COVID protocol. The updated protocol requires any students who are displaying a primary symptom (fever over 37.8, shortness of breath, cough, or loss of sense of smell/taste) to stay home, self-isolate and contact an assessment centre or health care provider. It is also recommended that household members isolate until the child/student receives a negative test result.
If a student has one secondary symptom (sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or muscle aches), they are expected to stay home for at least 24 hours after symptoms begin to improve.
If a student has two or more secondary symptoms, students are required to stay home, self-isolate and contact an assessment center or health care provider. Again, it is recommended that household members isolate until the child/student receives a negative test result.

Storrington Spirit Wear
Our Storrington spirit wear order arrived last week. All orders have been sorted and have been sitting for 72 hours. Students will be able to take their spirit wear orders home starting on Monday. For any students who placed an order and participate in virtual learning, please contact the school to set a time for pick-up.
Storrington Staff Holiday Gifts
We have had many families inquire about whether or not they are able to send in gifts for school staff. Families are welcome to send in gifts, as staff will continue to follow the COVID protocol when receiving items.
Storrington Picture Day
Now that our Storrington picture day has been completed, we are waiting to receive the picture order forms from Lifetouch. Parents will be able to order pictures on mylifetouch.ca using your Portrait ID and Access Code which can be found on your picture day order form.
Holiday Presentation
Our Stingers have been busy working on their Holiday Presentations. We are hoping to share each classroom presentation with families by Thursday or Friday. A reminder that the videos will be shared through your child’s Google Classroom.
Storrington Jingle Bell Walk/Non-Perishable Food Donations
Thank you to all our Stingers who brought in a non-perishable food donation in support of the Battersea United Church. Our Stingers filled 13 boxes with food items. We are very lucky to be part of such a caring school community!
Yard Supervisor Needed
We are currently looking for a yard supervisor to cover daily, from 10:30 to 11:30 and 1:00 to 2:00. Compensation is provided. A valid CPIC is required. If you are interested, please contact the office.
Covid-19 Screening Protocols and Family Reference Guide
Please take the time to complete the COVID-19 School Screening Tool, each morning, prior to your child attending school. If your child is feeling unwell, they must remain at home and depending on symptoms, may require a COVID-19 assessment.
The online COVID-19 School Screening Tool is linked off the Board and all school websites and is available at https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/.
News from our Parent Council for the 2020-2021 School Year
If any parents/guardians are interested in participating on school council, please email Brittany Smith at [email protected].
