Week at a Glance

Hello Storrington Stingers,

Happy Family Day!  We hope that all of our Stingers are safe and healthy and have enjoyed their Family Day weekend with loved ones.

Please see the information below in this week’s Week at a Glance.

Report Cards

First-term report cards went home to families on Friday, February 18.  If you have any questions regarding your child’s progress, please contact your child’s teacher by calling the school or by writing a note in your child’s agenda.

Pink Shirt Day- February 23

On Wednesday, February 23, our Storrington Stingers will be recognizing Pink Shirt Day.  We are encouraging our Stingers to practice kindness and to wear pink to symbolize that Stingers don't tolerate bullying.

Storrington Olympic Day- February 25

We are excited that on Friday, February 25, our Storrington Stingers will participate in a whole school outdoor Olympic day! Each class will rotate through a variety of modified Olympic games. These will be located around the school yard. We are outside for a large portion of the day, please ensure that your son/daughter is dressed for the weather. This includes snow pants/insulated splash pants, hats, mitts, extra mitts, boots, and a warm coat.

Kindergarten Masking Requirements

Public Health has removed the mandatory masking for Kindergarten students which was implemented in December.  Masking for Grades 1-12 is still required without an exemption.  Masking for Kindergarten students will now revert back to what was in place based on the August 2020 motion from trustees, which stated that masking would be highly encouraged and supported by staff, including potential alternatives like face shields.  Staff will continue to support working toward compliance.

Thank You to the Kinsmen Club of Gananoque

We want to send a big thank you to the Kinsmen Club of Gananoque for their generous donation to Storrington Public School.  The donation will be used to fund student activities at the school.  We are very lucky to have the support of some amazing community organizations and partnerships.

Kindergarten Online Registration for 2022-2023 School Year

If you have a child or know of a family who has a child that is Kindergarten age in September, the LDSB online registration for 2022-2023 school year is now open. You can register your child now for September, 2022 at Kindergarten Registration. To learn more about the Kindergarten program, please visit Discover Kindergarten in Limestone.  Thank you for choosing LDSB. #SeeYourselfInLimestone

Confirmation of Daily Screening

Families must diligently screen students for symptoms of COVID-19 using  the revised screening tool. As well, each morning, students in Grades 7 and 8 are required to complete the Covid Screener Confirmation.  The confirmation is sent daily to Grade 7 and 8 students’ Limestone email accounts.  Students should not come to school if they have any symptoms and/or feel sick.
