Week at a Glance

Hello Storrington Stingers,

We hope that all of our Stingers had a great weekend and are well and healthy.

Please see the information below in this week’s Week at a Glance.

Primary Play/Track Day

During the afternoon of Wednesday, June 15, our Kindergarten and Primary classes will be participating in our Storrington Play Day. Students will have to opportunity to participate in:

Ball Throw

100 m Dash

Standing Broad Jump

We will end our Primary Play/Track Day with all Storrington classes completing their final laps for our Marathon Club.

Storrington Ultimate Frisbee Team

Our Grade 7/8 Storrington Ultimate Frisbee team is competing in the 2022 LESSA Ultimate Frisbee Tournament on Thursday, June 16 at John Machin Soccer Park.  We want to wish our Stingers good luck and we know that they will do an amazing job representing Storrington.

Primary and Junior EQAO Assessment

Next week, our Stingers in Grades 3 and 6 will participate in EQAO testing.  EQAO is an assessment of the reading, writing and mathematic skills that students are expected to have learned by the end of Grade 3 and Grade 6. We know all our Grade 3 and 6 students will do an amazing job showing us what they've learned.

Welcome to Kindergarten

Our Storrington Kindergarten team is busy preparing to welcome our newest Stingers to Storrington.  On Thursday, June 16, we will be holding our Welcome to Kindergarten for all our junior kindergarten students joining us in September.  This will be an opportunity to visit the Kindergarten classrooms, learn about routines and expectations, and to ride on a school bus.  We look forward to beginning our work with our future Stingers.

Thank You to our School Council

On behalf of the staff, students and parent community, we want to thank our School Council for everything that they have done this year to make Storrington a special place.  Their dedication and commitment to our school and students is greatly appreciated!  We look forward to next year and continuing our partnership with our School Council and parent community.

Pride Parades

A reminder that the Kingston Pride Parade is on June 18 at 11:00 am. We hope to see our Stingers representing our Storrington community.

-If a household member has tested positive and your child is fully vaccinated and has no symptoms, they must wear a mask for 10 days.

-Upon return of a positive test and after 5 days of isolation, students and staff must wear a mask in all public settings for Day 6 to 10.

-If you have returned from international travel in the last 14 days, you must wear a mask for 14 days in all public settings.
