Week at a Glance

Hello Storrington Stingers,

I hope that this email continues to find you all well and healthy. We are eagerly anticipating an announcement from the provincial government and are very hopeful that we can return to face-to-face learning so that we can see all our Stingers!

Please see the information below in this week’s Week at a Glance.

Remote Learning Update

We currently don’t have a scheduled date for return to face-to-face learning.  We expect that the provincial government will make an announcement soon indicating the school plans for the rest of the school year.  All updates and information will be shared with our school community.

Pride Month

During the month of June, we will celebrate Pride Month.  Not only is this a time to recognize the achievements and contributions of LGBTQ2S+ communities but to also reflect on our own impact in creating a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and has a place.  During the month of June, students at Storrington will be learning more about the importance of the month.  We will also be flying the rainbow flag in recognition of the month.

Vaccination Information

Recently, communication was sent out to our parent community regarding youth aged 12 and up now being eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination in Ontario.  To ensure eligible youth have access to vaccines as soon as possible, KFL&A Public Health will be offering special youth vaccination clinics beginning the week of June 7 and continuing to June 28. If you have not received this information, please check your email inbox, if you have a child aged 12 and up, for information around accessing appointments for vaccination clinics.

Extension of Virtual School Registration

A reminder that families now have until June 4, 2021 to confirm their child’s registration for the 2021-2022 LDSB Virtual School.  If you are planning on registering your child in the LDSB Virtual School, families should confirm their child’s registration by accessing the registration link.  If your child will be attending face-to-face learning at Storrington Public School, no action is required.
