Family Update December 8-12, 2025
Happy Sunday, Stinger Families!
Thank you to everyone who came to have fun at our Snow Social last week! Our School Council + Volunteers hosted an amazing event for Storrington Families! Congratulations to our 2 students who won draw prizes – Abigail in Ms. Roberts' class and Bentley in Mr. Pare’s class!
We had a snowy Jingle Bell walk on Friday! Thank you to staff for providing students with hot chocolate!
This week is all about fun and giving! Our Student Council has helped us plan an exciting Spirit Week!

🎄 Monday – Ugly Sweater Day & Door Decorating Day
- Wear your best (or worst!) ugly holiday sweater.
- Door decorating will continue throughout the week!
🎉 Tuesday – Holiday Day! & Rock–Paper–Scissors Day
- Wear an outfit you’d wear on a hot vacation…think sunglasses, sunhat, etc.
- School-Wide Rock-Paper-Scissors Game! Each student and staff member will receive a bracelet to play the game.
- Class sets of bracelets will be distributed on Tuesday morning. Please do NOT hand them out until the event begins.
- The event will run 2:45–3:15 pm on both floors:
- 1st floor students will play only against other 1st floor students.
- 2nd floor students will remain on the 2nd floor and challenge peers there.
- At 3:15, the student(s) with the most bracelets in each class will be called to the office for a treat.
✨ Wednesday – Dress to Impress (New Year’s Style) & Minute-to-Win-It Challenge
- Wear festive New Year’s attire!
- Minute-to-Win-It games will take place 12:20–1:10pm in the gym.
🎅 Thursday – Santa’s Workshop & Just Dance: Holiday Edition
- SANTA’S WORKSHOP: Dress like Santa, his reindeer, elves,collecting or any other holiday character.
- Just Dance: We will run this event in two floor-based sessions:
- 1st Floor: 11:40–12:20
- 2nd Floor: 12:10–12:50
🛌 Friday – PJ Day & Holiday Sing-Along
- Wear your comfiest pajamas!
- Whole-school sing-along at 12:20pm.
Giving
We are collecting donations for the Battersea community until Friday.
Our local charities need the following:
- canned soups and stews
- cereal (preferably Cheerios or Rice Krispies)
Classes will keep a tally of how many items are brought in, and the class that gives the most will receive a pizza party and be featured in the Frontenac News! It's the Great CAN-tastic Classroom Challenge!
Grade 8 Fundraiser
December 16 – Holiday Concert
Our Winter Wonderland Holiday concert will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 5:30-6:30 pm. All classes will be participating in the event! Meat Sticks and Wilton Cheese orders will be available for pick-up as well.
We also invite families to tour around the school to view all the student artwork on display at our very own Holiday Art Gallery. We will also have student art displayed in our school windows. Families can take an outdoor walk around the school to view the art and all the sparkling holiday lights! It’s going to be a beautiful evening! We hope to see you there!
We will be having a school-wide assembly and dress rehearsal during the school day on Tuesday, December 16, during the middle block (between 11:30 and 1:10 pm). Information about timing will be shared next week.
Tentative Storrington Night at the Kingston Frontenacs Game
Please mark your calendars for March 6, game time is 7:05 pm. Details about tickets will be shared in January. It’s going to be a fun evening! Let’s fill the stands!
