Happy Monday, Stinger Families!

You have all probably heard of Mrs. Wellwood’s mishap. We would like to wish her a speedy recovery.

My name is Mr. Chad Taylor, and I will be the acting principal for the next few weeks. I retired approximately a year and a half ago from Elginburg District Public School. I was an administrator for 21 years, at almost all rural schools. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions. I will do my best to keep Storrington running as it was, as it seems to be a well-oiled machine.

February is Superhero Kindness Month at Storrington!

We declare that February is Kindness Superhero Month at Storrington! (starting Feb 9)

There are 3 Spirit Days Planned:

- "Odd Socks Day" to celebrate individuality! (Feb 20)

- Superhero Day (Feb 26)

- Red/White/Pink/Purple Day (Feb 13)

Each week will focus on a theme to promote kindness as a school community:

· The Power of Good: Make the positives loud!

· Anti-Bullying Behaviour (Bullies Out, Acts of Kindness In)

· If we challenge it, we can change it

There will be school-wide tasks, which could include:

· Super power story time – read-alouds all week

· Kindness Tally Charts

· Chain-reaction of positivity/kindness around each classroom

· Creative Writing - individual or shared writing as a class

We will finish off the month of February with a Kindness Superpower assembly – details will be shared soon!

Term 1 Report Cards

Term 1 Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, February 13. If your student is absent that day, they will be sent home the next school day that they are present.

Term 2 IEPs

If your student has an IEP, the Term 2 IEPs will be sent home immediately after March Break, on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Candy Grams Fundraiser for Student Council

Student Council will be selling Candy Grams as a Fundraiser. We will use this money to pay for the DJ booked for the dances on February 13, as well as continue to save money for future events and our personalized tent for sporting events.

Each student at Storrington will receive a Candy Gram and a positive message.

Candy Grams will be sold for $1.50.

Candy Grams will be sold by Student Council – Last day to purchase is tomorrow, Feb 10!

Candy Grams will be distributed on February 13.

Valentine’s Dances

Our Valentine’s Dances will take place on Friday, February 13! The Dances (1 for the bottom floor and 1 for the top floor) will take place during the 3rd block of the day. A DJ has been hired – this was a very positive experience in October! We are looking forward to a fun afternoon of movement and music! It will also be the pink/white/red/purple spirit day!

Kindergarten Registration – 2026-2027

It’s that time of year! Families who have a child born in 2022 can register them for year 1 (JK) of LDSB’s Full Day Kindergarten Program. A child born in 2021 would register for year 2 (SK) of the program. Please share this information widely: https://www.limestone.on.ca/kindergarten
