Stinger Family Update – June 15-19
Happy Tuesday morning!
A few reminders for families:
- School Day – A gentle reminder to please ensure you complete trip forms and payment before any field trips. We do not want students to miss out on these fun opportunities. The school can support any family that may need support with payment. Please connect with your child's teacher.
- Kona Ice – This is our final Student Council fundraiser! Please go to School Day to purchase your snow cone today! The order forms will close on Friday, June 19.
- Next week, we have 2 assemblies planned for 9:20 am. Families are invited to both assemblies. On June 22, we will recognize teams and individual athletic awards. There will also be a slideshow highlighting this past school year! The assembly on June 25 will be to recognize and celebrate staff and retirements.
- School Council - Our final meeting of the year will take place virtually, starting at 6:30 pm. We hope this time and format will support busy families at this time of the year. The meeting link will be shared with all families on Thursday morning.
Staffing Updates and Class Organization
As you know, Mme Dannengerg and Ms. Roberts will be retiring at the end of June. We will continue to celebrate them and their beautiful careers as educators. At the end of June, we will also be saying goodbye and best wishes to Ms. Kuhnke, who will be teaching Kindergarten at Truedell next year. In September, Ms. Kennedy will be back in her Planning Time role. Ms. Renaud will also be returning to Storrington following her itinerant Math position this past year.
We do not have any updates for Support Staff yet, as their staffing process continues.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome new staff to Storrington!
We have Ms. Paterson joining us as Core French with some Planning Time. We also have Ms. Boese, who will be teaching Grade 1 /2.
Although changes are still possible, I wanted to share the following school organization with families:
JK/SK – Ms. Freeland and Ms. Griffin
1/2 A – Ms. Coleman
1/2 B – Ms. Boese
2/3 – Ms. Ridout
3 /4 - Ms. Renaud
5/6 – Mr. Freeland
6/7 (we do not anticipate any grade 8 students) – Mr. Pare
Core French – Mme Paterson
Planning time – Ms. Kennedy
Lastly, our Office Administrator, Ms. Tina Goslin, will be moving to Selby Public School next year. She has been a wonderful addition to our staff for the last few months, and she will be missed. We wish her well at her new school. The staffing process will now take place for that position.
