Hello Storrington Stingers,
On behalf of all Storrington staff, we want to wish our Stingers a safe and healthy holiday break. Hopefully, your holiday break is filled with moments you will remember and cherish. As we reflect on the first four months of school, it is important that we continue to recognize everything to be grateful for. As a staff, we are grateful for our Storrington community and everything that you have done to support our Stingers. We wish you all health and happiness and we can’t wait to see our Stingers in the new year.

Storrington Acts of Amazing
The month of November saw our Stingers doing lots of amazing things! Collectively, our Stingers have displayed 2260 acts of Amazing by showing Humility, Honesty, Bravery, Respect, Love, Wisdom and Truth. We are almost a quarter of the way to our goal of 10 000 Acts of Amazing this year. Great job Stingers!
November Storrington Recognition Certificate Recipients
During our December Spirit and Recognition Assembly, we took the time to celebrate our September Storrington Recognition Certificate Recipients. These students were recognized by their classroom teacher and classmates for consistently showing Respect, Honesty, Humility, Love, Wisdom, Truth and Bravery during the month of November. Congratulations to this month’s recipients- Emmelin Doyle, Abby Azulay, Cora Knapp, Alivia Shaw, Blake McCallum, Preston MacPherson, Wesley Knapp-Bain, Harley Colby and Xander Williams.
Storrington Cheerios Challenge
We want to send a huge thank you to all our Stingers who brought in Cheerios for our Cheerios Challenge. Collectively, our Stingers brought in 511 boxes of Cheerios. Our winning class was Ms. Renaud’s class who brought in a total of 200 boxes of Cheerios. Ms. Renaud’s class will celebrate their win with a pizza and movie party.
Non-Perishable Food Donations to Battersea United Church
Thank you to all our Stingers who brought in a non-perishable food donation in support of the Battersea United Church. We are very lucky to be part of such a caring school community!
Storrington Holiday Celebration
You are invited to attend Storrington Public Schools’ Holiday Celebration on Wednesday, December 20. We are very excited to welcome our Storrington community to join us as we take the time to celebrate the winter season and holidays from around the world!
All classes will perform on stage. The night will be divided into three performances.
6:00 - 6:20 Primary Performances

6:20 -6:25 Intermission: Rotate Audiences
6:25 - 6:45 Kindergarten Performances

6:50-7:10 Junior Performances

During the intermission, after your child’s performance, you will be asked to gather your child from their classroom and supervise them for the remainder of the evening.
*Reminder: Please remain in the gym and do not gather your child until intermission times. *
Dress rehearsal will take place during the day Tuesday, December 19th at 2:00 in the gym for the whole school to watch. Anyone who is unable to attend the night time performance is welcome to join us.

Storrington Holiday Theme Days
During the week of December 18 to December 22, our Stingers are encouraged to participate in our Holiday Themed Days:
Monday, December 18 Jersey Day -Stingers are encouraged to wear the jersey of their favourite sports team or a jersey from a team that they played on.
Tuesday, December 19 Holiday or Ugly Sweater Day -Stingers are encouraged to wear a holiday sweater or an ugly sweater.
Wednesday, December 20 Red, White and Green Day -Stingers are encouraged to wear clothes that are red, white and/or green.
Thursday, December 21 Storrington Spirit Day -Stingers are encouraged to wear their Storrington spirit wear or Stinger colours.
Friday, December 22 Pyjama or Comfy Clothes Day -Stingers are encouraged to wear their pyjamas or comfy clothes.
Non-Perishable Food Donations to Battersea United Church
Thank you to all our Stingers who brought in a non-perishable food donation in support of the Battersea United Church. We are very lucky to be part of such a caring school community!

Mabel’s Labels
A reminder to our Stinger families that we have a Mabel’s Labels fundraiser account for any families who are interested in purchasing labels. If you are interested in purchasing labels, go to: campaigns.mabelslabels.com and type Storrington Public School (Battersea) in the Search for the Name of Organization. All proceeds from the label purchases will go to purchasing outdoor equipment.

News from our Parent Council for the 2023-2024 School Year
Kingston Frontenac Fundraiser
Tickets are available for purchase for the January 21st game vs the Saginaw Spirit at 2 PM. A portion of the ticket cost goes back to the school. Come join us for a fun afternoon. We will also be hosting the chuck a puck fundraiser at the game. Tickets are available before Christmas with a deadline of Tuesday, December 19 and delivery on the 21st. Tickets will continue to be available up to January 15, 2024.

High School Volunteers

Happy Holidays from Parent Council
As 2023 comes to an end, Parent Council wants to wish the Storrington Community a wonderful holiday season. Council has had an extremely busy start to the school year with 5 fundraisers and two events all in 4 short months and we looking forward to a restful break over the holidays. As always, we do the work we do for the benefit of the students and the larger community and we thank you and appreciate your ongoing support.
