Week at a Glance

Hello Storrington Stingers,

We hope that all of our Stingers had a great weekend!

Please see the information below in this week’s Week at a Glance.

Black History Month

During the month of February, Storrington students will recognize Black History Month.  Black History Month is a way for Canadians to celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Black Canadians.  Through their work and dedication, they have helped to enhance and define the Canadian culture and to make Canada into the country that it is today. Please take the time to discuss, with your child, the importance of why we recognize and celebrate Black History Month.

Inclement Weather Absence Reporting

If your child is going to be absent on an inclement weather day, we ask that families report their child’s absence in SafeArrival.  If your child(ren) rides the bus, please report your child(ren)’s absence as Bus Cancellation.  If your child(ren) walk(s) to school, please report your child(ren)’s absence as Inclement Weather.  If parents do not report their child’s absence, attendance calls will be sent out through SafeArrival.

Storrington Spirit and Recognition Assembly

Our January Storrington Spirit and Recognition Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, February 2 at 10:00.  We would like to invite our Storrington community to join us for the assembly.  If you are interested in attending, we ask that you arrive at the school by 9:55, so we can start right at 10:00.

Terry Fox Donations

We received communication from the Terry Fox Foundation with our total raised for this year.  Our Stingers surpassed our goal of $500 and raised $575.60 for the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research.  Great job Stingers!

Updates to Provincial Self-Screening Tool and Guidelines
