Week at a Glance- Oct. 30 to Nov. 3
Hello Storrington Stingers,
We hope that all of our Stingers had a great weekend!
Please see the information below in this week’s Week at a Glance.
Storrington Boo Bash Thank You
On behalf of all our Stingers, we would like to thank our amazing Storrington School Council and volunteers for all their hard work and effort with our Storrington Boo Bash. We also want to thank our high school volunteers for helping and assisting with the night. There was lots of games and activities for our Stingers to participate in! It was great to bring our Storrington community together for a night of fun and games.
Storrington Student Council Bake Sale
We would like to extend a special thanks to our twelve amazing members of this year’s Student Council for planning great charity and spirit day events throughout the 2023-2024 school year! Student Council’s first fundraising event will be taking place during the lunch hours on October 31st. Students are invited to bring in a loonie to purchase something from the Student Council Spooktacular Bake Sale. All items will be sold for a dollar and will be nut free and cinnamon free. The money raised will go towards the outdoor activity initiative that the council has voted upon. The profits will be spent on new equipment for classes to play with during their recess breaks. Thank you Parents and Guardians, for your continued support of these fun school events!
Black and Orange Day
A reminder that we are encouraging all our Stingers to wear black and orange on Tuesday, October 31. We kindly ask that students do not wear their Halloween costumes or bring in their costume accessories.
Indigenous Education Month
The month of November is Indigenous Education Month. During the month, we will be taking the time to learn and deepen our understanding of Indigenous history, cultures, and traditions. Throughout the month, staff will be implementing Indigenous teachings, lessons, and activities into their daily programming.
Our Stingers will also recognize Treaties Recognition Week from November 6th to November 10th. The week is dedicated to honoring the importance of treaties and helps students to learn more about treaty rights and relationships.
Storrington Accessories and Apparel Store
Storrington Public School now has an online clothing store where families can purchase Stinger accessories and apparel. The online store remains open all year round. To access the online clothing store, please visit: https://specialtytrophies.ca/storringtonps/
Storrington Spirit and Recognition Assembly
Our October Storrington Spirit and Recognition Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, November 2 at 10:00. We would like to invite our Storrington community to join us for the assembly. If you are interested in attending, we ask that you arrive at the school by 9:55, so we can start right at 10:00.
Mabel’s Labels
A reminder to our Stinger families that we have a Mabel’s Labels fundraiser account for any families who are interested in purchasing labels. If you are interested in purchasing labels, go to: campaigns.mabelslabels.com and type Storrington Public School (Battersea) in the Search for the Name of Organization.
